This thick, rich and satisfying soup can be prepared from almost the same ingredients as cabbage rolls.

Onion

Tomatoes in their own juice

500 g

White cabbage

300–350 g

Carrot

1 piece

Garlic

2–3 cloves

Vegetable oil

3 tbsp. spoons

Minced beef

450–500 g

Sweet paprika

2 teaspoons

Ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. 1.

    Cut the onions and tomatoes into small pieces. Shred the cabbage. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Pass the garlic through a press. Rinse the rice.

    Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Fry the onions and carrots until soft. Add the garlic and brown for another minute.

  3. 3․

    Place the minced meat into the pan. Cook with vegetables for 5-6 minutes.

  4. 4.

    Add tomatoes with juice, rice, paprika, salt and pepper. Fill everything with hot water.

  5. 5.

    Once boiling, cook over moderate heat for about 15 minutes. Add the cabbage and leave the soup on the heat for another 5-10 minutes.

    Serve the finished soup with sour cream and herbs.
