If Sweden is represented by Norwegians, Norway is represented by… Norwegians. And not just any quintet: the Gåte quintet aims to be the bridge between vocal folk tradition and hard rock modernity. Typically Scandinavian stringed instruments (notably the nyckelharpa, or keyboard hurdy-gurdy), words borrowed from the world of tales (the title, “Ulveham”means “wolf skin”)… The mixture is explosive but successful. We just hope that the singer, Gunnhild, won’t shout as loud as during the semi-final. Lykke til, Norway!
