Construction of floating sea dock built to deliver aid to Gaza continues
Extensive preparation work by the Israeli army and the Ministry of Defense to accommodate the maritime dock for humanitarian aid in Gaza continues. “This work began with a joint workshop with the Americans, which served as a basis for planning. It was carried out by the Department of Engineering and Construction of the Ministry of Defense, under the direction of the IDF Southern Command , of the Corps of Engineers, of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, with logistical support from the Department of Technology and Logistics, in cooperation with the American army,” announced the Israeli army in a press release.
The project site covers approximately 270 dunams (27 hectares) intended for large-scale exploitation and transfer of goods to the territory. A remote-controlled hydraulic door system is under construction. Extensive electrical work is also underway to support the facility and accommodate maritime and land-based equipment. The Israeli Navy will ensure the security of the forces engaged in the humanitarian assistance mission in the maritime space, from the arrival of the naval forces until the end of the operation.
