Three people killed by Israeli army in northern West Bank, Palestinian authorities say
Three people were killed by the Israeli army in the northern West Bank, Palestinian authorities announced early Thursday. “Three martyrs shot dead by occupying forces in Tulkarem”, communicated the Ministry of Health. The three people were aged around twenty, according to the same source.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the three young Palestinians were killed during an Israeli army raid which also left several injured.
The West Bank has been the scene of an outbreak of violence for two years, further exacerbated by the deadly attack carried out on October 7 in Gaza by Hamas.
On May 4, near Tulkarem, the Israeli army claimed to have killed five Palestinians, after twelve hours of siege of a village during which an Israeli soldier was injured. The Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, reported three fighters killed, including its leader, in Tulkarem.
Including these three additional deaths, at least 502 Palestinians have since been killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank. During the same period, at least twenty people were killed on the Israeli side by Palestinians in the West Bank and in Israel.
