The day after the road accident which left two dead on Saturday in Lifou, the gendarmes provided new information.
There were thirteen people on board the pick-up which overturned on the road leading to the Thuahaïk tribe, in the district of Lössi, in Lifou, on Saturday, around 6 a.m. Clarification provided this Sunday by the gendarmes.
Two young men, aged 24 and 22, died instantly. One was from the Kumo tribe, the other from the Nang tribe.
Seven people escaped by military plane. Four are still hospitalized, including three in intensive care.
