Several moderate Republicans joined their votes with Democrats to achieve a majority for the abolition of this law which prohibits all abortion from the moment of conception, unless the life of the mother is in danger.

The House of Representatives of Arizona, a state in the southwest of the United States, voted on Wednesday to abolish an 1864 law banning almost all abortions, deemed applicable two weeks ago by the Supreme Court of this American state.

Several moderate Republicans joined their votes with Democrats to achieve a majority for the abolition of this law which prohibits all abortion from the moment of conception, unless the life of the mother is in danger. Neither rape nor incest are considered valid exceptions under the abolished law.
