“Punish” Israel
Sworn enemy of Israel and ally of the Palestinian movement Hamas, Iran has threatened to “to punish” Israel after a strike on its consulate in Damascus on April 1 which left 16 dead, according to an NGO, including seven members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, Tehran’s ideological army.
Iran and Syria blamed the attack on Israel, which has not confirmed its involvement but remains considered responsible, including by its own allies.
