As part of its campaign of psychological terror, Hamas released a video of hostage Hersh Golberg-Polin, kidnapped on October 7 at the Nova Festival. The young man appears pale and emaciated, and his hand seems amputated. This is the first sign of life for this 23-year-old Israeli-American since his kidnapping. In this undated video, he is heard reciting a message presumably written by Hamas: “Hello, my name is Hersh Goldberg-Polin, I am the son of Jonathan and Rachel. I was born on October 13, 2000 in California in the USA and I now live with my family in Jerusalem I was kidnapped on October 7th in a parking lot during a party in Reim. I was out to spend time with my friends and found myself struggling. for my life, with serious injuries all over my body, while there was no one to protect us.”

He added: “Benjamin Netanyahu and the government of Israel, you should be ashamed of yourselves for the fact that you abandoned me and thousands of other civilians that damn day. You should be ashamed that we are here for almost 200 days and all the IDF rescue attempts have failed You should be ashamed that the air force bombs killed almost 70 abductees like me. And you should be ashamed, again and again. again, for having rejected all the agreements proposed for our release.”

His mother, Rachel Goldberg-Polin, who travels the world and meets many personalities to raise public awareness of the fate of the hostages, has just been ranked among the 100 most influential personalities of the year by the Time.

133 hostages are still in the hands of Hamas. Among them, only around forty are still alive, according to Israeli intelligence.
